Description: This classic steak is given a delicious makeover using fresh, good quality ingredients to produce a rich, creamy sauce.


1 Tbsp. Vegetable or Olive Oil

4 X 150 g Beef Steak (Round)

25 g Butter, Chopped

1 Small Brown Onion, Finely Chopped

1 Clove Garlic, Crushed

150 g Mixed Mushrooms, Chopped

2 Tbsp. Plain Flour

3/4 Cup Beef Stock

1/3 Cup Thickened Cream

2 Tsp. Finely Chopped Thyme

Steamed Vegetables, To Serve

In a large frying pan, heat oil over moderately high heat. Cook beef 3-4 minutes each side or until cooked to taste. Transfer to a heatproof plate. Cover with foil and rest it for 5 minutes.


In same pan, melt butter over moderate heat. Add onion; cook and stir for 2-3 minutes or until soft. Add garlic and mushroom. Cook and stir it for 3-5 minutes.

Now add flour, cook and stir it for 1 minute. Then after stirring it in stock.  Reduce the heat and let it simmer. Uncover it for 3-5 minutes.

Add cream and cook it for 1 minute.

For Seasoning:

Serve your Steak with sauce, thyme and veggies.
