Spinach Cream Soup

Description: Serve hot in a soup bowl with whipped cream and croutons.


Spinach ½ kg

Salt to taste

Maida (flour) 2 tbsp

Broth 4 cup

Black Pepper Powder ½ tsp

Nutmeg Powder ½ tsp

Fresh Cream ½ cup

Margarine or Butter 2 tbsp

Olive Oil 1 tbsp


Wash and chop the spinach, keep it covered in a pan.

Cook the spinach on low heat till its own water dries. Remove from heat and let it cool, blend in a blender and set aside. In a separate pan heat the margarine and Olive Oil, add flour and cook till fragrant. Add broth bit by bit keep stirring with the help of wooden spoon till it thickens.

Add the blended spinach and cream when the soup boils sprinkle salt, black pepper and nutmeg. Cook for another 1 – 2 minutes and remove from heat.
