Description:  This sweet vermicelli is one of the most popular desserts of Asia, traditionally cooked on Eid. Try our sheer khurma recipe and your family and guests will rate it as the best.


Milk 1 Liter
Vermicelli 1 Cup
Sugar 2 Cups
Cloves 2
Finely Crushed Small Cardamom 6
Dry Dates 8
Finely Chopped Pistachios 15
Finely Chopped Almond 10-12
Ghee 2 Tbsp.


Take out all the seeds of dried dates and cut into 4 pieces. Put ghee in a pot and add the cardamom and cloves. When it starts giving off some aroma, add the vermicelli and roast it nicely. Then take out the vermicelli, put in dry dates, pistachios and almonds, fry it and take it out. Be careful not to burn anything.


Remove pot, cool for 5 minutes and put milk. Put sugar and cook for few minutes till you get the preferred consistency and the vermicelli is soft like a noodle. When sugar dissolves, put dry dates, put nuts and serve sheer khurma.
