PC Tai Pan Restaurant Review by Asad Sheikh

PC Tai Pan is serving traditional Chinese cuisine with an essence of the Canton and Shanghai provinces, Tai-Pan specialties are prepared using the four Chinese cooking methods: steamed, braised, baked, and fried.

My sister was visiting from abroad couple of days ago and she had some serious craving for some good Chinese and decided to take her to Tai Pan at PC Hotel Lahore.

For starters, we ordered Lemon Chili Soup and Hot and Sour Soup along with Prawn Tempura, Chicken Steam Dumplings and upon kids request a platter of Crunchy Maaki from Sakura.

If I have to make a comparison between the prawn tempura of Taipan and Sakura then I will go with Sakura’s any day. Quite did not like the batter on them but the Maaki and Steamed Dumplings were amazing. I can honestly have a meal with steamed dumplings and a soup alone as that is what we do most of the time at home.

Going on to main, we ordered Beef Chili Dry, Scezhuan Chicken, Garlic Prawns, Chicken Chowmein and upon my request to chef to make me their Crispy Roast chicken with Hoisin Sauce which is part of their buffet menu usually.

Loved each item, specially the Beef Chili Dry, Scezhuan Chicken, Crispy Roast Chicken with Hoisin sauce and Garlic prawns to be in order. That Crispy chicken tastes (almost) like a duck (mins the pancakes) and can have it any given day.

Now to wrap things up, ordered their Caramel Banana with Ice Cream, one word of advice, go easy or caramel as it had a very thick layer of caramel that make it hard to break.

Overall great experience and hands down among the best service in town beside Spice Bazaar.
