This recipe will make 5 rotis so make sure you have enough saag and butter to last!

All You Need:

  • Maize Flour: 2 Cups.
  • Plain Flour: 1/3 Cup.
  • Oil: 1 Teaspoon.
  • Salt: To Taste.
  • Water: To Knead.

Ready, Set, Cook!

First, mix the maize, salt and oil. Knead this mixture into a very soft dough using a little water but make sure not to add too much or the dough will become runny.

When the dough is very soft, roll it into a ball and break off a smaller lump.

Shape this lump into a ball in your hand,flatten it with the heel of your hand and flatten into the shape of the roti.

Dust with a bit of the maize flour and use rolling pin until desired thinness is achieved.

Cook on a heavy pan or earthen griddle and serve hot with a dollop of fresh butter and sarson ka saag!
