Lasagna Roll Ups | Hawa Farzoq

This cheesy lasagna recipe by Hawa Farzoq is super simple to make; it’s sure to leave your family feeling full and happy. So, go on and take a break from traditional layered lasagna and give these these fun lasagna roll ups a try!

½ onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, crushed
½ tbsp oil
¼ kg chicken mince
2 oz mushrooms, sliced
2 tbsp tomato puree
3 oz chicken stock
1/8 tsp dried basil
1/8 tsp oregano
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp red chilies

White sauce:
¼ cup butter
3 tbsp flour
10 oz milk
Salt and pepper
3 oz cheddar cheese
4-6 lasagna sheets, boiled in salt water for 10-12 minutes


Fry onion and garlic in oil for 5 minutes until soft.
Add minced chicken and cook until it changes color.
Add the mushrooms, tomato puree, stock, basil, oregano, salt, pepper and red chilies.
Bring it to boil and simmer until the water evaporates, stir occasionally.
Melt butter in a saucepan, add flour and cook for 2 minutes.
Remove from heat add milk, little by little and stir to remove any lumps.
Put back on heat, add seasonings and stir until thick.
Add cheese and remove from heat.


Spread a thin layer of white sauce on the bottom of the baking dish.
Spread a layer of meat mixture on pasta sheet and roll it up.
Place the roll ups in the baking dish, top it will remaining white sauce and cheddar cheese. Bake in a moderately hot oven (200*C) until golden brown.
