Description: Soft succulent tender fish fillet accompanied with rice cooked in ethnic spices and you have yourself the perfect fish biryani that is sure to rock your dinner table!
Â˝ Â kg Fish Fillets, cut into 1 1/2″ cubes
2 tsp. Oil
1 cup grated Onions
1 tsp. Ginger Paste
1 tsp. Garlic Paste
1 tsp. Cumin Seeds
Â˝ Â tsp. Garam Masala
1 Tbsp. Coriander Powder
Â˝ Â tsp. Chili Powder
Â˝ Â tsp. Turmeric Powder
1 Â˝ Â tsp. Salt
ÂĽ Â cup Yogurt
ÂĽ Â cup chopped Coriander Leaves
Green Chilies, chopped fine
1/2 tsp. Biryani Masala
1/3 cup Browned Onions
For the rice:
2 cup Rice, cleaned and washed
2 tsp. oil
ÂĽ Â Cinnamon
4 Green Cardamoms
Â˝ Â tsp. Salt
3 cups hot Water
Â˝ Â cup warm Milk, Saffron or food color
Heat the oil in a dish.Â Put in the onions, cumin and ginger-garlic pastes.Â Cook uncovered at high heat for 4 minutes.Â Then add garam masala, coriander powder, chili powder, turmeric powder, salt and yogurt.
Cook the above preparation covered at medium to high heat for 8-10 minutes, stir once.
Mix in the fish and cook uncovered at high heat for another 4 minutes.Â Let the mixture sit for 1 minute adding in the browned onions, coriander, green chilies and biryani masala.
Make a mixture of oil, cloves, peppercorns, cinnamon and cardamoms.Â Cook covered at high heat for 2 minutes then add rice, water and salt.Â Mix well and cook at high heat for 8 minutes and then at medium to high heat for 8 minutes.
Put the fish layer at the bottom of the dish and cover with the rice. Sprinkle it with the rice milk mixture.Â Give it a final cook at medium to high heat for 5 minutes.
Mix well and serve hot!
