Eggless Date and Walnut Cake

Eggless Date and Walnut Cake

1. All purpose flour – 2 cups
2.Dates – 1 cup, chopped finely
3. Walnuts – 1 cup, coarsely chopped
4. Oil – 1/2 cup
5. Water – 2 cups
6. Sugar – 3/4 cup
7. Cinnamon powder – 1tsp
8. Salt – 1/4 tsp
9. Baking powder – 1tsp
10. Baking soda – 2 tsp


1. Take a medium saucepan and add in the sugar,chopped dates, water, oil, salt & cinnamon powder. Mix everything well and turn on the stove. Let it come to boil and then lower the flame and cook for 30 minutes.you are looking for gel like consistency.

2. Meanwhile sieve flour,  baking powder and baking soda at least twice. Keep aside
3.once the date  mixture has cooked well,  keep it aside and cool completely before adding dry ingredients. It is very important for this date mixture to cool down before using un further recipe

4.once the mixture has cooled completely add the dry ingredients little at a time making sure everything is well blended. Now add chopped walnuts.

5.preheat the oven at 350°F and grease your baking tray.

6.pour the cake mixture in to a baking tray and bake until the toothpick inserted comes out clean

7. Let the cake Cool down before cutting it.
