For the cookies
All-Purpose Flour 2 cups
Baking Soda 1/2 tsp.
Salt 1/2 tsp.
Unsalted Butter, Melted 3/4 cup
Packed Brown Sugar 1 cup
White sugar 1/2 cup
Vanilla Extract 1 tbsp.
Almond Extract 1/2 tsp.
Egg Yolk 1
Semisweet Chocolate Chips 2 cups
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees.
In a small bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, cream together the melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until well blended.
Beat in the vanilla, almond extract, egg, and egg yolk until light and creamy.
Mix in the sifted ingredients until just blended. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand.
Drop cookie dough 1 tablespoon at a time onto the prepared cookie sheets.
Cookies should be about 2 inches apart. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until the edges are lightly toasted.
Cool on baking sheets for five minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
